In Memory of Linda Kendall

Linda fought a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and we thank all of you who attended the Marrow-thon that we held in September of 2009. We were appreciative that you took the time to call us and express your concern and that you kept Linda in your prayers. This meant a lot to the Kiel Mortgage family and was so humbling to Linda that she was at a loss for words to describe her gratitude. She was truly overjoyed with the outpouring of support from family members and complete strangers that attended the Marrow-thon. We are happy to report that 196 people registered to become marrow donors at the event, 56 people gave blood and $17,000 was raised to go towards uncovered medical expenses. Such love! Such blessings!

Although Linda’s cancer became to aggressive to proceed with her own transplant it was Linda’s wish that a life saving match would be found for someone due to these efforts. To date three people have been contacted by the National Bone Marrow Association! These individuals are going through additional testing to see if they will be a compatible match for a cancer patient who is waiting for a life saving transplantation! We will keep you posted! Linda passed away July 23rd, 2010 and in her honor we encourage you to consider joining the National Bone Marrow Registry.
