Dan Kiel began his career in the lending industry in 1992 and by 1996 had co-founded Kiel Mortgage with his wife, Laura. Their vision was to create a company that would provide excellence at every turn, regardless of a mortgage industry that was full of wild ups and downs. A commitment was made to deliver excellence to: staff members, vendors, the community at large and their valued clients. Mediocre was never an option considered; excellence was the bar that would be reached. Under this leadership Kiel Mortgage earned the title of, “The Better Business Bureau Small Business of the Year for Western Washington and Oregon in 2002.” This coveted award of excellence spanned not only mortgage companies but all business types. Kiel Mortgage continued its quest for excellence and went on to earn, “The Community Service Award from the Better Business Bureau in 2005,” and most recently the highest accolade the Better Business Bureau presents to any company in Western Washington, “The Torch Award for the Large Business of the Year for 2007.”
