If you are current on your mortgage payment but Underwater there is GOOD news! You may be eligible to refinance and receive a more affordable and stable mortgage through the “Home Affordable Refinance Program” or (HARP). The HARP program is referenced by many names such as: “The Making Home Affordable plan,” “The Obama Refinance plan,” “a DU Refi+,” and “The Relief Refinance.” To eliminate any confusion these programs are one in the same.

In order to qualify for the HARP refinance program:

  • Your loan must be backed by Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac.
  • Your current mortgage must have a securitization date prior to June 1, 2009.
  • Your loan must not be an FHA, USDA, VA or a jumbo mortgage.  Underwater FHA & VA loans are eligible to refinance with an FHA Streamline Refinance program or a VA URLLL Streamline Refinance.

Payment relief starts with a phone call, so give us a call today at 1-888-778-KIEL (WA & OR) or 1-888-988-KIEL (CA).
